In 2023, Southern Cross launched new product changes, giving pet owners even more policy flexibility, making it even easier to look after their pet and their budget. “We’re also right behind the NZ Veterinary Association (NZVA) and Pet Refuge helping those who care for our pets when things don’t go quite according to plan,” said Mr McPhail.
“As part of our partnership with the NZVA we created the Paws Off! symbol. A food symbol to warn humans which foods are ‘not ok’ to share with their beloved pets. We encourage pet lovers to visit pawsoff.co.nz to educate themselves on what food and drink shouldn’t be shared with pets. We see thousands of claims a year for dogs and cats who have eaten something they shouldn’t. We all want to help more pets live happy, healthy lives for longer.”
