FAMILY TIES AND CLASSIC KIWI INGENUITY are at the heart of Cookie Time, founded by brothers Michael Mayell and Guy Pope-Mayell in Christchurch. On the first day of business - February 7, 1983 - some 70 jars of cookies were delivered to 70 stores. By the end of the day, the phone was ringing off the hook with new orders. New Zealand's love affair with Cookie Time had begun!

Entrepreneurship and innovation are in this iconic company's DNA, and it remains proudly New Zealand made, owned and loved. In the early days, cookies were produced with classic Kiwi ingenuity. Cookie dough was measured out with ice cream scoops, and paint scrapers used to get baked cookies off the trays. Technology may have changed but Cookie Time is all about making delicious homestyle cookies with real ingredients and real chocolate, batch baked in traditional rack ovens.

"We're passionate about family values and good oldfashioned quality, married with ongoing advances in technology and sustainability," says Managing Director Guy Pope-Mayell.

Today Cookie Time continues to innovate with new flavours and formats and is committed to sustainability throughout its business. Upcoming releases include a plant-based version of its famous Chocolate Chunk Cookie, wrapped in compostable film. It also gives back to the community through the Cookie Time Charitable Trust, founded in 1983 to help New Zealand kids discover their gifts.
